Charlton: Arsenal loanee almost scores goal of the season

Charlton Athletic signed the Arsenal youngster, Stephy Mavididi on a loan deal until the end of the season. Mavididi came off the bench on Saturday against Rochdale and almost scored the goal of the season.

Karl Robinson has had a keen eye for the Gunners’ talent since his days at Milton Keynes’ Dons. On the January transfer window deadline day, Charlton secured the services of the talented youngster on a loan deal lasting until the end of the season.

Over the years, Charlton Athletic and Arsenal have built up a strong relationship when it comes to loan deals and signings. The likes of Yaya Sanogo and Francis Coquelin both had loan spells at Charlton, before returning to their parent club and performing at a much higher level.

The talented display by Stephy Mavididi on the weekend could indicate early signs of another successful loan deal for Arsenal and Charlton.

Unfortunately for Mavididi he was not able to pull off the finish. In fact, moments later, the forward tweeted out that he needs to work on his finishing, and he seemed to be frustrated that he could not deliver the final product.

Both Charlton and Arsenal fans will be hoping he can build on that confidence and start to become more prolific for the Addicks.
