Second-placed Brighton & Hove Albion travel to South Yorkshire on Saturday to take on Barnsley in an important fixture for the two Championship sides.

Seagulls boss Chris Hughton has no new injury concerns for the trip to Oakwell at the weekend.

Gaetan Bong is expected to miss the game as his knee injury continues to be a problem. The Cameroonian full-back has played just one game for Brighton this year, in a 2-1 victory over Fulham.

Liam Rosenior is close to making a return after making an appearances for the Under-23 team on Monday.

Barnsley will once again be without midfielder Alex Mowatt, who is still serving his three-game suspension after receiving a red card in a 3-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers last month. The former England U20 international  has been important for the Tykes this season, accumulating 21 appearances.

Another major player in Josh Scowen is a doubt for the clash with Brighton due to an ankle injury. The 23-year-old has made a huge 31 appearances this term but missed the trip to Villa Park on Tuesday. Sessi D’Almedia is still out of action with a knee problem.

In the reverse fixture, in September, Brighton ran out as 2-0 winners with a brace from Glenn Murray.

Currently, Houghton’s team are not in the best of form and have won just once in their last five games. The East Sussex side are one point behind Newcastle United and four point adrift of Huddersfield Town in third spot.

Paul Heckingbottom’s club will be on a high after a convincing 3-1 win away to Aston Villa this week and earned a valuable point in a trip to promotion candidates Reading last Saturday.
