EFL side seen training in muddy park before tonight’s big Championship match

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has been seen training with side in a local park hours before his side take on Derby County at Pride Park in a Sky Bet Championship match (Derby Telegraph). Fans spotted the Bluebirds boss running over tactics on St Peter’s Park in Little Eaton.

Warnock has overseen an upturn in form since taking over last year and has successfully guided the team away from relegation trouble, although he himself won’t admit that just yet! On the back of winning at Elland Road in impressive fashion on Saturday, they head to Derby tonight hoping to pull off what many would view as an unlikely double.

Several Rams fans in the area noticed several men in blue jackets lining up in the local park and were quite to inform local media. One of those was Chris Hallsworth, who noticed the players on the muddy turf earlier today,

“It was a strange sight. First of all the big team bus turned up and then all of these first-team footballers started getting off.

“Neil was shouting at them, really putting them through their paces, and there were a handful of residents watching in disbelief.”

Paul Gouldridge, whose mother lives close by to the park, was also pleasantly surprised but insisted the team looked in good spirits,

“It’s not everyday you see a professional football team here. I don’t know why were they here but they seemed in good spirits.”

John Ridgery also spotted the surprising sight,

“I saw the players have a laugh and they were taking selfies with children. It definitely wasn’t Little Eaton United that’s for sure.”
