Terriers to fend off Premier League trio to sign striker

Huddersfield Town hope to fend off transfer interest from three Premier League clubs to sign on loan FC Ingolstadt 04 striker Elias Kachunga according to the Huddersfield Examiner.

The 24-year-old Haan born frontman has impressed since moving to West Yorkshire on a season long loan deal from the German Bundesliga outfit.

Kachunga has netted 10 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions for The Terriers and the player’s good goalscoring form is believed to be attracting the attention of Premier League trio Everton, Middlesbrough and Watford.

The striker’s admirers could submit transfer offers for the player in the summer however it has been revealed that Huddersfield Town have already agreed a transfer fee with FC Ingolstadt 04 for Kachunga and The Terriers will have the first option to sign the player on a permanent basis.

Kachunga started his career at Borussia Monchengladbach where he netted 13 goals in 47 appearances for the club’s second string side before the player joined SC Paderborn to gain first team playing experience. Kachunga netted six goals in 32 appearances at the Benteler Arena prior to his move to FC Ingolstadt 04. The striker has struggled for game time with Die Schanzer and was permitted to leave the club on loan last summer.

Huddersfield Town are currently sitting in third place in the Sky Bet Championship table and there is a real chance that Kachunga may sample Premier League football without having to leave The John Smith’s Stadium.
