Premier League giants chase Fulham youngster

A number of the Premier League’s top clubs are chasing the signing of Fulham left back Ryan Sessegnon according to the Mirror.

The 16-year-old Roehampton born defender is widely regarded as the brightest product of the Sky Bet Championship club’s academy system in recent years and the youngster’s list of admirers is growing at a rapid rate.

It has been reported that Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are battling it out to sign the youngster who has already scored three goals in 11 appearances at first team level for Fulham. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is thought to be the favourite to land the player in the summer although it is believed that Fulham will hold out for transfer offers of at least £15 million for Sessegnon.

The highly rated youngster joined The Whites’ academy system as a nine-year-old and has successfully graduated through the various age groups at Craven Cottage. Sessegnon made his senior debut in Fulham’s 3-2 EFL Cup victory over Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road back in August and was the youngest player to score in a Sky Bet Championship match when he netted for The Cottagers in a 2-2 draw against Cardiff City later that month.

Sessegnon’s early promise has also seen the player become an England Under-17 international and the defender is expected to play at the very top level in the future.
