Bolton Wanderers close to completing deal for Cardiff City striker

Bolton Wanderers are close to completing a deal to sign Cardiff City’s Adam Le Fondre according to a report from Wales Online.

For the longest time, it has been apparent that Cardiff no longer want the 30-year-old striker and have been trying to get rid of him. However the Bluebirds only seem to be able to let him leave on loan with him most recently moving to Wigan Athletic. However with that spell not going well, he’s only scored once in 13 games, they are willing to terminate the loan to find him a new home.

And at long last, that new home is set to be a permanent one as Bolton are closing in on a deal to sign Le Fondre. The former Reading forward knows the Macron Stadium well having had a loan spell there in the second half of the 2014/15 season and now gets the chance to build on that spell by spending the next few years in Lancashire.

This report suggests that the deal should be complete in the next few hours as Le Fondre is at he Macron Stadium right now to discuss his contract terms and should everything be fine there, he will be signing the deal that gets him away from Cardiff. When he does sign, it’s likely he will be thrown right in to the fray as Bolton look to challenge the top two of Sky Bet League One so they can get promoted back to the Sky Bet Championship at the first time of asking.
