Transfer News: League One pair battle for Liverpool youngster

League One sides Charlton and MK dons are being linked with a move for Liverpool youngster Jordan Williams.

Any potential deal is said to be a permanent one.

That is according to the Liverpool Echo, who have revealed that the interest from the two clubs could see Williams leave Anfield before the deadline at 11 pm tonight.

The midfielder who is out of contract with the Premier League giants in the summer – has been a part of Liverpool’s youth teams for the last seven years and has represented the club on one occasion. That appearance being a league cup tie against Middlesbrough at Anfield in 2014.

Since then he has been an unused substitute during a number of cup fixtures.

He scored a crucial spot-kick during the penalty shoot-out that night as his side beat their Championship opponents 14-13 on penalties.

MK Dons
Charlton manager Karl Robinson is the former manager of MK Dons and he is now facing competition from them to sign the Liverpool midfielder.

He finished that season with a loan spell at Notts County.

After returning from his Nottinghamshire spell, Williams was again loaned out – this time to Swindon Town.

His spell at Swindon was the catalyst for his first call-up to the Wales squad. However, a long-term injury would hamper this and September would be his last action for the rest of the season.

A comeback for Liverpool’s Under-23 side at the beginning of this campaign has put him back on the radar and now it seems that any move, this time, away from Anfield will be a permanent one.
