Coventry reject two bids for hotshot defender

Attacking Coventry City full back Ryan Haynes has reportedly had two bids rejected for him as the Deadline nears, as reported by the Coventry Telegraph.

Although the clubs are unnamed, today it has been strongly reported that Haynes could be leaving the Ricoh Arena before 11pm tomorrow night when the transfer window shuts. His contract runs out at the end of the season so either the offers were so small that it wasn’t worth the risk for Russell Slade or he is confident of extending his deal beyond June.

The ginger left back is a product of the prestigious Sky Blues academy and made his first appearance in April 2013 in a 1-1 draw with Brentford where he vomited on the pitch to mark the occasion. Since then he has gone on to make over 50 appearances for Coventry still at the age of just 21.

Last season with Chris Stokes enjoying a great run of form Haynes didn’t get much of a look-in in the first team which led to him being loaned out to League 2 side Cambridge where he got some much-needed experience. This season on the other hand he was kept out of the side by loanee Lewis Page and was reduced to cup games where he impressed. Such as the Sky Blues’ 4-2 defeat over Wycombe in the Checkatrade Trophy where he got 2 goals and an assist.

Since Page returned to London with Charlton Haynes has had an increased impact in the side where he has been the best of a bad bunch for rock bottom Coventry, who are going to need everything they can get  to stay up. Including trying to keep on of their most dangerous attacking options in Haynes.
