Brentford set to confirm signing of Dutch winger

Championship side Brentford have agreed a deal with Dutch club PSV Eindhoven for winger Florian Jozefzoon, according to Sky Sports.

The 25-year-old has agreed terms with the London club and is set to complete his move to Griffin Park following a medical on Thursday.

Brentford have been at the centre of attention for much of this transfer window, with the saga regarding talisman Scott Hogan’s multi-million pound move to the Premier League very much still ongoing.

The Bees are also said to be keen on re-signing former winger Sergi Canos from fellow Championship outfit Norwich City, but according to Sky sources, any move for the Spaniard is dependent on whether or not Hogan moves on before the transfer deadline on Tuesday evening.

Jozefzoon is a product of the youth academy of Dutch gians Ajax, and progressed to the senior side in 2010, but only made a handful of appearances for the club.

Prior to joining PSV in 2013 he also had brief spells at NAC Breda and Waalwijk; the latter of which he impressed with, scoring seven times in just over 30 appearances.

This season, he has only turned out five times for his current club, but since joining he has made well over 40 appearances in the Dutch top flight.

Brentford travel to Premier League giants Chelsea on the weekend in the Emirates FA Cup fourth round, as they look to provide one of the shocks of the season by overcoming their much-fancied opponents.

Their next league outing is back at Griffin Park on Tuesday evening, as they entertain Aston Villa in a bid to return to winning ways following their recent defeat at the hands of strugglers Wigan Athletic.
