PREVIEW: Sky Bet League One (24/01/2017)

Sheffield United vs Fleetwood Town – 19:45

There’s a huge clash at Bramall Lane with top of the table Sheffield United hosting fourth placed Fleetwood Town.

The Blades are continuing to secure their automatic promotion spot and sit seven points ahead of third placed Bolton. Chris Wilder’s side have won three out of four since the turn of the New Year, scoring ten goals in the process. It’s believed that new striker James Hanson could be unveiled to the South Yorkshire side’s fanbase at tonight’s highly anticipated game.

Meanwhile the Cod Army are sitting nicely in fourth place and haven’t lost a league game since a 2-1 loss away at Port Vale on November 12th. They’ll be hoping to snatch something at the expense of Sheffield United in front of their travelling fans and a no doubt packed out home crowd.

United manager Chris Wilder could shake his team up tonight after questioning some of his players after their 2-2 draw at home to Gillingham on Saturday. Striker Leon Clarke faces a late fitness test while Samir Carruthers is expected to remain on the sidelines.

For the Cods, defender Nathan Pond will not be making the trip as he is still sidelined with a knee injury. Jimmy Ryan, Martyn Woolford and Michael Duckworth are all doubtful for the team from the seaside.

888 Sport have the Blades to win at 3/7, a draw at 17/5 and an away win can be bet on at 6/1. Both teams to score is available at 4/5 but for those who think this top of the table clash could be a cagey affair, under 2.5 goals sits at 16/15.

The ever-reliable Billy Sharp is available to score first at 23/10 with an anytime goal for Fleetwood Town’s equivalent, David Ball, sitting at 29/10.
