Aston Villa have had a £750K offer for Bury’s Jacob Bedeau rejected with Manchester United and Liverpool waiting in the wings with their own offers according to a report from the Birmingham Mail.
The Shakers aren’t exactly known across the country for producing top quality youngsters, but it appears that might be about to change. There are a number of players in their youth team right now who could be potential stars and have plenty of teams monitoring their progress, with Bedeau being one of them. The 17-year-old defender, who was only signed in the summer after being released by Leyton Orient, is one of the highest rated players at the club with 27 clubs scouting him during a match in December.
And so Aston Villa made their move to sign the starlet by making an offer of £750K but that won’t be enough as Bury rejected that offer out of hand. The Greater Manchester side know that with the competition on right now to try and sign Bedeau, they can hold out for more money and they are demanding at least seven figures for a player they do seem resigned to losing during this transfer window.
And while Aston Villa could probably pay up if they wanted to, it could be the competition to sign him that ends up stopping them from signing the talented youngster. Both Manchester United and Liverpool who are famed for having the best academies in the country are interested and with those two teams also being local for Bedeau, one of those clubs may be where he ends up signing at.
