Championship trio chase Iron midfielder

Sky Bet Championship trio Bristol City, Ipswich Town and Rotherham United are understood to be considering moves for Scunthorpe United midfielder Josh Morris according to the East Anglian Daily Times.

The 25-year-old Preston born midfield ace has starred for The Iron this season with the Lincolnshire club currently chasing an unexpected promotion back to the second tier.

It has been reported that Morris’ good performances at Glanford Park have not gone unnoticed with Bristol City, Ipswich Town and Rotherham United all thought to be watching the player. The midfielder is contracted to Scunthorpe United until summer 2019 therefore it may take a substantial transfer offer to persuade The Iron to part with one of their prized assets.

Morris is a product of the Blackburn Rovers academy system but the player made just 22 appearances for Rovers after breaking into the first team picture at Ewood Park. The midfielder was loaned out to Yeovil Town, Rotherham United, Carlisle United and Fleetwood Town before joining Bradford City on a permanent basis in summer 2015.

The player was restricted to just 18 appearances for The Bantams before being allowed to join current club Scunthorpe United on a free transfer last summer. Morris has been a revelation for The iron with the midfielder scoring a hugely impressive 18 goals in 33 appearances so far this season and the club are set to receive transfer interest in the player before the current window comes to a close next week.
