Humphrys, Shrewsbury Town set to snap up Fulham starlet

Shrewsbury Town set to snap up Fulham starlet

Shrewsbury Town are set to sign Fulham’s Stephen Humphrys on loan according to a report from HITC Sport.

While the Cottagers have struggled in terms of their league positions over the last few years, this is the first time since they were relegated from the Premier League that they have looked like they have had any chance of getting promoted, their academy has only improved and has been producing many great players, one notable example being Moussa Dembele who moved to Celtic in the summer.

The latest player who is expected to be a big star for Fulham in the future is Humphrys, a 19-year-old striker who made his début for the club against Fulham earlier in the season. He has been a prolific goalscorer at every level of the youth system and it is believed that he will be able to do the same when he makes the move up to playing competitive football.

And because of his ability and need for game time, Fulham are set to make two deals to secure Humphrys’ future. Firstly, they are going to get him to sign a new long-term deal with the West London club to put off any potential suitors who will want to sign him from them much like Fulham signed him from Bury in 2013. And secondly, he is set to be loaned out to Shrewsbury who currently lead a whole host of Sky Bet EFL clubs for his signature. At the Greenhous Meadow he is set to get his first taste of regular competitive football which will do his development a lot of good.
