Ipswich Town: Tractor Boys provide free travel for Forest trip

Sky Bet Championship side Ipswich Town have offered free travel to Nottingham Forest for the final away game of the season as compensation for their Emirates FA Cup exit at the hands of Lincoln City.

The Tractor Boys were heading to extra-time in their Third Round Replay at Sincil Bank, but Nathan Arnold’s strike in second-half added time stole a famous giant-killing for the Vanarama National League leaders.

1,100 Ipswich Town supporters watched their beloved side bow out of the nation’s most historic competition and, as competition for the Club’s embarrassing defeat, the Suffolk side has offered free coach travel to Town supporters who witnessed the debacle.

Managing Director Ian Milne stated that the loss affected everyone at the Club but hopes the Blues will be able to bounce back with a victory at Huddersfield Town this Saturday.

“Everybody at the Club is hurting. Mick; the players; the staff and of course, our fantastic fans.

“We need the continued backing from the supporters, especially in difficult times and we appreciate the time and money they spend following the team. We hope that this gesture goes some way to showing that.
“Our season has been disappointing so far culminating in the defeat at Lincoln but there have been encouraging signs recently in the league and hopefully we can get back to winning ways at Huddersfield at the weekend. The fans can have a big part to play in that – as they always do.”
The Tractor Boys make the trip to Huddersfield Town this Saturday, with Mick McCarthy’s side looking to register consecutive League victories for the first time this season.
