New favourite emerges to become next Forest manager

Gary Brazil has become the new favourite to become Nottingham Forest’s next permanent boss with SkyBet. The man in caretaker charge of the club looks set to become the next permanent Forest boss.

Gary Brazil has become the new favourite to take over at the City Ground. The current caretaker manager has moved up the pecking order after a series of large bets were placed on him overnight.

The 54-year-old is currently trading at a 7/4 shot to become the next first team manager of Forest.

Former Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has also had his odds slashed massively overnight. Tipped as a heavy outsider after the sacking of Philippe Montanier, Pearson now stands at odds of 5/2 to take over from the ill-fated French manager.

SkyBet had Billy Davies as favourite for the job before last night however his odds have fallen away to 9/2.

Paul Heckingbottom and Gary Rowett are also listed at fairly short odds of 7/1 to take over from Philippe Montanier. Rowett was favourite to join Forest had the failed takeover of American John Jay Moores been completed.

Forest’s next match comes against Bristol City on Saturday, when Brazil will be in the dugout. Brazil has been a coach at the City Ground since 2012 and is well liked by fans and players alike.

However the manager who joins Forest has a big job ahead. The club sit just outside the relegation places and could soon be dragged into the bottom three. Star man Henri Lansbury is due to complete a move to Aston Villa this transfer window, another damaging blow for Forest in their bid for survival.
