Norwich man set for £13 million Burnley move

Premier League Burnley are leading the chase of Norwich City’s Robbie Brady, according to reports from The Mirror.

The 25-year-old has been subject to transfer speculation this month with Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Burnley showing interest in Brady. The Republic of Ireland international has been a key man for Norwich since moving from Hull City in 2015 for a fee believed to be around £7 million. This season, Brady has made 23 appearances and managed to score three goals for an underwhelming Norwich side.

The Clarets have placed a bid which could rise to £13 million, with an initial £10 million paid plus £3 million in potential add-ons. Burnley placed the offer last week and remain in talks with Alex Neil’s side.

The Premier League outfit are the leaders of the pack and are attempting to finalise the deal for Brady. Reports indicate the deal could be finalised this week.

Sunderland and Crystal Palace have also made bids for the Manchester United academy product.

The Norwich star has a wealth of experience in both the Premier League and the Championship, boasting nearly 200 appearances in England’s top two divisions. Brady also possesses 31 caps for his country and seven goals, including two memorable finishes in last summer’s European Championship against France and Italy. Brady starred for the Republic of Ireland at Euro 2016 where they recorded a famous win over Italy and reached the knock out stage.

The Canaries are currently under performing and sit 11th in the Championship, eight points adrift of the play-off spots. They travel to Southampton on Saturday in the FA Cup.
