Burton Albion make former Ipswich Town defender a target

Burton Albion have made Stromsgodset’s Jonathan Parr a target according to a report from HITC Sport.

The 28-year-old defender may be playing in his native country right now, but he is well known in England after playing in the Sky Bet EFL for many years. He first moved to England when he signed for Crystal Palace in 2011 and spent three years at Selhurst Park before switching to Ipswich in 2014. After two years in Suffolk, he was released and returned to Norway to play for Stromsgodset.

And since heading back to Scandinavia, Parr has been in good form and has made 31 appearances for the club, adding two scored to that as well. And because of this, several teams from England and Greek side AEK Athens are interested in signing him.

Most of the teams from England that are interested aren’t known yet but this report suggests that Burton are one of the teams that are looking to sign him. The Brewers are currently battling against relegation and are doing well right now as they are 21st in the Sky Bet Championship, though they are just one point above 22nd place Blackburn Rovers. To make sure they stay in this league, they are aiming to sign some more proven Championship talent that know what it takes to compete at this level.

The negotiations for Parr could end up taking some time so that means it is unlikely they will have him signed for their next match against Cardiff City which will take place on Saturday.
