Canaries full back on the verge of exit

Norwich City left back Martin Olsson is on the verge of completing a reported £4.5 million move to Premier League strugglers Swansea City according to the Eastern Daily Press.

The clubs opened talks over the proposed deal last week and it is understood that those discussions have gone well with Olsson expected to complete his move to The Liberty Stadium on Monday.

It has been reported that the player has travelled to South Wales to undergo a medical prior to the completion of the deal and if all goes well, Swansea City will unveil the signing of the 28-year-old Swede within the next 24 hours.

Swedish international Olsson started his career in his homeland with Hogaborgs BK before being picked up by Blackburn Rovers. The defender broke into the first team at Ewood Park and went on to make 142 appearances for Rovers scoring four goals.

After a number of excellent performances for Rovers, Olsson signed for Norwich City in summer 2013 for an undisclosed fee and the player has made 129 appearances for The Canaries scoring four goals.

During his time at Carrow Road, Olsson helped Norwich City win promotion to the Premier League and should he complete the move to Swansea City, the player’s first task will be to help the Swans avoid relegation back to the Sky Bet Championship.
