Blackburn Rovers enter talks with Rennes defender

Blackburn Rovers have entered talks with Rennes’ Dimitri Cavaré according to a report from French publication L’Equipe via Get French Football News.

With the Lancashire club not having as much money as some of their Sky Bet Championship clubs, they have to get inventive with some of their targets if they want players who can help them compete in this league. This means sending their scouts out to places other than the Sky Bet EFL which can overprice their players, and hoping that taking risks on players with no experience of this country.

And the player they have scouted enough to be impressed with and enter talks worth is Cavaré, a 21-year-old defender. He currently plays for Rennes but is struggling to break into the first team there and has been told by their head coach Christian Gourcuff that can leave and find a new club. And with Blackburn in talks with him, he could be soon switching Brittany for Lancashire.

However Cavaré may end up deciding that a move to England is not for him as he could still stay in France. This report also states that Ligue 2 side Stade de Reims are interested in the right back and could also make a move for him in the coming days. But Blackburn will be hoping that the complete change in environment and a chance to play in a league which has  big reputation will be enough to persuade Cavaré to sign for them and make the move to England.
