Whites drawn at Wimbledon or Sutton

Sky Bet Championship side Leeds United have been given an away Fourth Round tie to AFC Wimbledon or Sutton United in the Emirates FA Cup should they overcome Cambridge United tonight.

The Whites entered the nation’s most historic competition tonight at the Third Round stage, alongside their fellow Championship sides and Premier League teams.

Sutton United entered the competition back in October with a 2-1 win over National League hopefuls Forest Green Rovers. A nine-goal thriller followed for United at Dartford, with Sutton edging the tie 6-3, pitting the non-league outfit with a home draw with Sky Bet League Two side Cheltenham Town.

Roarie Deacon’s 95th minute winner stole the headlines as the non-league outfit cruised into the Third Round with a 2-1 victory over their Football League opposition and to set up a home tie with AFC Wimbledon.

A 5-0 home victory for Wimbledon over came Bury after they were held to a 0-0 draw in the First Round. The Dons looked set for a shock exit to Curzon Ashton in the Second Round, but a dramatic comeback from three-goals behind made sure that the League side sparred any blushes with a 4-3 victory over their non-league counterparts.

Leeds United made the trip to League Two side Cambridge United tonight and Garry Monk’s side would have been looking to book their place in the Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round with a victory over their lower-league counterparts.

Despite turning around 1-0 in arrears against the League Two side, the Whites upped their game and two goals from Stuart Dallas and Alex Mowatt were enough to see Garry Monk’s side through in a match where their ‘big side’ credentials were tested, and tested well.
