Towering defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell will stay at Bramall Lane until the end of the season, as announced by the player’s parent club this evening.

The big central defender joined the Blades on loan from Wolves at the start of the season and has become a fan favourite thanks to his performances. The defender has already made 21 appearances, bagging an impressive five goals in the process.

Wolves had the option to recall the player this month but have agreed that Ebanks-Landell will remain on loan in the red-half of Sheffield until the end of the season.

Manager Chris Wilder is understandably delighted, he told Sheffield United “Ethan has been superb and it’s fantastic for us and him that he will be here until the end of the campaign.

“We’ve had constant dialogue with Wolves throughout his loan and we have to thank them for giving us permission for him to stay for the remainder of the season.”

Additionally, the player has today signed a new contract with his Midlands based parent club. The club’s official Twitter account this evening announced the news with this tweet.

The new deal will keep Ebanks-Landell at Molineux until 2020, clearly making him part of Paul Lambert’s long-term plans. He will no doubt return to Wolves in the Summer hoping to challenge for a first-team place next season.

Wolves fan Southy seemed in positive mood on Twitter after the player committed to the club for the next three years.

Fellow Wolves fans Ashley didn’t seem to possess the same opinion.

But Josh saw the new contract and loan extension as a positive deal for all parties involved.
