Leeds United and Bristol City have joined the fight to sign Norwich City’s Sergi Canos according to a report from West London Sport.
The 19-year-old midfielder joined Norwich in the summer in a big money deal and it was expected that he was going to be a key player as they challenged for promotion. However things are yet to work out Canos at Carrow Road. He has only made five appearances for the club and he looks set to depart the club whether on a permanent deal or on loan.
Initially, this attracted the attention of Brentford. Canos had a hugely successful loan spell with the Bees last season where he scored seven goals in 39 appearances. As Brentford had missed out in the summer when they tried to sign Canos, they thought it would be the ideal place to bring the Spaniard where they thought he belonged – Griffin Park.
However they could end up being beaten to Canos’ signature again as two other Sky Bet Championship clubs are in the race to sign him. Both Leeds and Bristol City are looking to add more talent to their squad during te January transfer window and Canos seems to be the ideal fit.
Leeds are currently in the play-off spots and are aiming to make sure that they stay there and signing someone with plenty of creativity should help the goals keep coming, though Norwich may not want to sell a player to a team they will see as rivals for promotion. Bristol City have been disappointing this season after a bright start and think Canos could help kick start it again.
