Trio chase Brighton & Hove Albion youngster

Oldham Athletic, Portsmouth and Crawley Town are all thought to be battling it out to sign Brighton & Hove Albion defender Rob Hunt on loan for the remainder of the campaign according to The Argus.

The 21-year-old Dagenham born right back put in a solid performance in a rare start for Albion as they beat Sky Bet League One club MK Dons at The Amex Stadium on Saturday and other clubs are now expected to be queueing up to land the player on loan.

Hunt is being eased into first team football on the South Coast and it is thought that Albion would favour sending the youngster out on loan to gain more first team experience. It has been reported that Oldham Athletic, Portsmouth and Crawley Town have all made initial enquiries about the player’s availability.

The defender is highly rated by his club and either Portsmouth or Crawley Town could be the favourites to land Hunt with his parent club being located close enough to keep a keen eye on the player’s development.

Hunt is a product of the Brighton & Hove Albion academy and the player was handed his first team debut for the club in an EFL Cup tie with Colchester United in August. The youngster has made five first team appearances this season while he has also featured for the Under 23s side in the EFL Trophy.
