Newcastle United are set to make an offer for Virtus Entella’s Cheick Keita according to a report from The Sun.
The 20-year-old defender came through the Monaco academy but after he was released by them, he ended up in Serie B playing for Virtus Entella and his performances have been fantastic after he broke into the first team there. And they have been so good that scouts from all over the world have been coming to watch Keita and see if they should make a move for him.
From Serie A in Italy, Juventus and Roma could be soon trying to persuade Keita to jump up a league while Le Havre and Angers may try to persuade the Mali man to return to France. However a few teams from England are also scouting him, with Bolton Wanderers and Crystal Palace being the biggest names currently known other than Newcastle of course. They have been scouting him for a while and have been so impressed with what they have seen from him, they are planning to make an offer for him in the coming days.
Right now, it is unknown how much Newcastle will have to pay up to sign one of the best young players in Italy. No matter what Virtus Entella want, and you have to imagine they’ll want plenty if they are going to sell one of their star assets, Newcastle have plenty of cash to splash and will be looking to out bid many of the other teams interested in the defender.
