Peterborough United: Posh ready for tie at the Bridge

51 League positions may seperate Sky Bet League One side Peteborough United and Premier League leaders Chelsea, but Posh boss Grant McCann will do his upmost best to cause an upset.

The Posh sit eighth in League One, whilst their elite opposition sit atop the pile of England’s divisions, but the Cambridgeshire side will be looking to get their name into the hat for the Fourth Round by causing an upset.

Chelsea are currently on a terrific run of form which had seen them cruise to 14 straight wins before Antonio Conte’s side slumped to a 0-2 defeat to Tottenham on Tuesday night.

The London side have a history of exiting to lower league opposition in the nation’s most historic competition. Last season the Blues crashed to a 4-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge to League One side Bradford City after leading 2-0 in the Fourth Round.

McCann’s side make the tip to South West looking to end the Blues’ 19-game unbeaten run in the Third Round but he insists it will be a difficult game for his side.

“It’s a great opportunity for the players to play against world class players. A big fanbase is coming from Peterborough for a massive game, it’s sold out, which is great and everyone is looking forward to it – we can’t wait.

“We’ll go and enjoy it, go and play our normal game, we are not going to change it for Chelsea. I know it may sound a bit arrogant but it’s not, it’s a cup game. We want to go there and put a good performance on. We know it’s going to be tough but we have nothing to lose, we’ll go there and try our best.”
