South Yorkshire side Sheffield Wednesday are close to agreeing a deal with Charlton Athletic for the transfer of left-back Morgan Fox, according to reports.

Sheffield Wednesday are looking to bring in Fox from the London side for a fee of around £700,000.

Left-back Fox, 23, has been the subject of repeated bids from Wednesday over the past couple of weeks who have been determined to get their man. Transfer talks are set to continue today for the former Welsh Under-21 international with a move to Hillsborough likely within the next couple of days.

Reports suggest that Fox is yet to agree personal terms with The Owls with Championship rivals Derby County set to match their bid for the 23-year-old Sky Bet League One left-back.

Fox has come through the ranks at Charlton and has over 100 appearances under his belt at The Valley. He has been tracked over the last season by a host of clubs including West Ham, Aston Villa and Birmingham who all made enquiries over the player during the summer transfer window.

The young left-back has made 30 appearances for the Addicks so far this campaign and has bagged three goals in 24 Sky Bet League One matches.

If the Welshman joins The Owls he will be in fierce competition for a starting spot at the left-back position with Daniel Pudil, Adam Reach and Urby Emanuelson all at Hillsborough currently.

The 23-year-old Welshman is still to win a full international cap for his country despite featuring in the country’s U21 side, but has been included in a number of squads and is expected to be capped by Chris Coleman at some point this year.
