Brentford midfielder on the move this January?

Republic of Ireland international Alan Judge has said today that he’s relaxed about the prospect of a move this January transfer window, according to Sky Sources.

North East team Newcastle were linked with Judge in the Summer and have now shown an interest in the player again with the player confirming that Brighton have also shown an interest in him. A third party, Birmingham City, have also been linked to the player – even if it was only because the club’s official Twitter account followed Judge on the social media platform.

If given the choice, Judge would prefer a move in the Summer once he is up to full fitness and no transfer fee is needed. The Irish international has however confirmed that the London club will try to sell him this month so that they can get a fee for the player before his contract expires in the Summer at which point he will become available to other clubs on a free transfer.

The player has been a key member of the Bees squad since he joined back in 2014. After making the Football League team of the year last term, the player suffered a broken leg back in April and has been out since.

Brentford boss Dean Smith has been very relaxed regarding rumours surrounding Judge. Speaking to Get West London back at the end of December, he said “for all the talk of Alan Judge going anywhere, he’s not had a training session yet. I think it’s all a bit premature.”
