Coventry City starlet Cian Harries has been invited to train with Premier League side Liverpool ahead of a potential move, according to the Daily Mail.

The youngster has been compared to ex-Liverpool captain Alan Hansen due to his desire to step out of defense with the ball at his feet and his cool head under any sort of pressure.

The player had recently signed a new contract with Coventry City in November, which ties him at the club until 2020.

However, he will now train with Liverpool at their Melwood training ground after they asked the permission of the Midlands based club and it will be a waiting game for the club and player as to whether the Reds make a bid for Harries or not this transfer window.

Back in January 2015, former Coventry manager Tony Mowbray described the player as a “fantastic prospect”. Coventry, who are having a torrid time in League One this season and are surrounded by off-field issues, ultimately want the player to stay with the Sky Blues but they understand that the opportunity to train with five times Champions League winners Liverpool is too good to turn down for all parties involved.

The 6″1 defender had a brief loan spell at Cheltenham Town last year and has already made 14 appearances for his club Coventry this time out. This has clearly been enough to catch the eye of Liverpool’s scouts.
