Tom Hitchcock – Rotherham United
An inspired substitution by Millers manager Steve Evans, Tom Hitchcock scored a hat-trick to earn his side a 4-3 win away at Gillingham. Three quality finishes, with the third the pick of the bunch, helped Rotherham extend their unbeaten run to 16 and guarantee a play-off place.
There still could be a chance of automatic promotion if Brentford slip up but regardless it’s been an excellent season for Evans and his players who had been expected to struggle at this level. With momentum on their side and players who can come on to make such an impact, they will be difficult to beat come play-off time.
