TWITTER: Ipswich Town fans react to Wszolek late winner for QPR

Sky Bet Championship side Ipswich Town were downed by Pawel Wszolek’s second late winner in a week as the Polish international stole all three points for QPR in the 84th minute.

Irdissa Sylla opened the scoring for Ian Holloway’s side after 30 minutes when he nicked in behind after Christophe Berra’s poor defensive header.

Tom Lawrence’s stunner equalised early on in the second half as his rifled effort beat Alex Smithies.

But it was not to be Mick McCarthy’s men as Wszolek held off Adam Webster before rounding Bartosz Bialkowski and tapping in from a tight angle.

The Tractor Boys’ latest defeat meant the Blues continued the season without consecutive wins and pressure fell back on to McCarthy who angered many Blues fans with the substitution of Myles Kenlock for Jonas Knudsen late on.

The Blues were sitting comfortable at 1-1 and looked the more likely side to grab a winner, but following the late defeat voices have become much louder for Marcus Evans to sack the former Wolves boss.

And with the Tractor Boys playing host to Vanarama National League side Lincoln City next Saturday, many fans see it as the final straw before – surely -McCarthy gets the sack.
