Bradford manager Stuart McCall has played down rumours that the club will be trying to sign Ched Evans this January.
The Bantams drew 1-1 with Bury on New Years Eve which is their fourth draw in the last five league games they’ve played. Fans are becoming increasingly worried with the distinct lack of goals and with only 3 in the last 7 games, calls for a new striker to be signed are becoming more and more vocal.
However, contrary to rumours, it seems doubtful that Ched Evans will be the man to fill what could be the final piece of the jigsaw and score the goals the Bantams need to fire them to promotion.
After yesterday’s frustrating home draw with the 20th placed Shakers, Stuart McCall was questioned on the matter by Pulse radio.
When asked about speculation the Scotsman said “I think that’s purely what it is if I’m honest”
“I would think there’d be clubs with better resources and bigger clubs out there looking at Ched Evans”
“I’ve gotta say, I would be doubtful of that one.”
Bradford fans have, of course, been having their say on Twitter in regards to the speculation.
Can someone tell me why the not so prolific Ched Evans would be such a great signing for #bcafc

Why are #bcafc fans crying out for Evans? He's scored 5 goals this season #sowhat pic.twitter.com/LvvcX56FF2

The positive news for City fans is that McCall has been identifying targets that he would like to try and sign in January and now the rest lies with those above to try and get the deals done.
