Burton Albion not getting the luck they need

Burton Albion’s Jamie Ward has told the club website that they are not getting the luck they need at the moment.

The Brewers had a big fixture on Boxing Day as they took on Aston Villa, a fixture many years ago they would never have dreamed of having in the league. However their trip to Villa Park did not get off to the best start as Leandro Bacuna was able to give Villa the lead after Leandro Bacuna headed in a cross from Albert Adomah.

However Burton fought back and before the first half was out, they got an equaliser when Ward scored an impressive volley. But they did not go on to claim a historic point as later on in the game, Ross McCormack showed why he was worth so much money when he tapped in from close range.

With Burton having more chances in the second half, they were unlucky not to get a winner and Ward feels as if that bad luck has been costing them in the last few weeks. He said: “It’s difficult to take, we deserved a lot more from the game so it’s just one of them things.”

“We’ve struggled away from home, there’s a big problem away from home for some reason or another. Performances have been good, we just can’t see games out.”

“Football is all about luck and at the moment we aren’t getting it. All we can do is keep working hard and keep performing the way we are and hopefully the luck will turn.”
