Blades hope to sign Wolves loan star

Sky Bet League One promotion chasers Sheffield United hope to discuss the long term future of on loan Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell later this week according to the Sheffield Star.

The 24 year old West Bromwich born tough tacking defender joined The Blades on a season long loan deal at the end of August and the player has starred for Chris Wilder’s side this season with the club battling for a long awaited return to the Sky Bet Championship.

It is understood that Sheffield United would like to make the loan deal permanent and it has been reported that Blades boss Wilder will speak with new Wolves manager Paul Lambert over the next few days to find out whether Ebanks-Landell has any future at Molineux or whether the player is available for permanent transfer.

Ebanks-Landell has made 17 appearances for The Blades and the player has scored four times for the club. The defender is in his third loan spell away from Wolves with Ebanks-Landell having previously spent two spells with Bury in the early days of his career.

The player is a product of the academy system at Molineux and the defender forced his way into the first team picture at the club in recent seasons however Ebanks-Landell’s time with Wolves could be at an end and a permanent stay at Bramall Lane could be on the agenda.
