Villa owner issues rallying call to players

Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia has issued a rallying call to his players ahead of Sunday’s Sky Bet Championship clash at Queens Park Rangers according to the Express & Star.

Steve Bruce’s side put on a less than impressive performance against Norwich City at Carrow Road on Tuesday evening as Villa fell to a 1-0 defeat.

Villa were hugely disappointing with the Midlands side recording just one shot on target as Norwich City dominated the proceedings. The result leaves Villa sitting in 13th place in the league table, seven points behind the play off positions and ahead of the club’s next fixture at Loftus Road, owner Dr Tony Xia took to Twitter to issue a rallying cry to his players.

The Villa owner’s open views have proved a hit with the club’s fans, improving communication between both parties and there is seemingly no hiding place for any under-performers at Villa Park. For too long, Villa fans have been left both disappointed and in the dark by owners but in Dr Tony Xia the club now seem to have an owner who is only focussed on success and positive change.

With manager Bruce set to receive financial backing in the January transfer window, every player’s place in the squad is at risk and both owner and manager have made it clear that nothing short of 100% effort will do between now and the end of the campaign.
