Wolves lining up swoop for Blackburn Rovers winger

Wolves are lining up a move for Blackburn Rovers’ Ben Marshall according to a report from The Sun.

The upcoming January transfer window will be the first time that new head coach Paul Lambert will be given the chance to sign his own players for the squad and after previously being critical of the players that Walter Zenga brought in during his short time as the Wolves boss, he is looking so sign proven professionals to help the Black County club rise up the Sky Bet Championship table.

And the man that Lambert wants is Marshall, who looks likely to leave his current club Blackburn in the near future. His contract is set to expire at the end of the season and after turning down a new deal from the Lancashire club, they are now looking to ship the winger out in the January transfer window so they can get some money for the player.

This is a very enticing move for Lambert, who has worked with Marshall before. The former Aston Villa manager was very impressed with the winger when he was the head coach of Blackburn for a short period at the end of last season and is now looking to lure him to Molineux.

The issue that Lambert will have though is Marshall’s wages. He is currently on £25,000 a week at Ewood Park, a staggering amount for any Championship player to be on. Even with the funds that Fosun International are providing to Wolves this season, paying that much may just be a bridge too far for them.
