Bristol City linked with French striker once again

SkyBet Championship promotion hopefuls Bristol City could attempt to sign AFC Bournemouth striker Lys Mousset in the January transfer window after losing out to The Cherries in the race for his signature in the summer according to the Bristol Post.

The 20 year old Montivilliers born hotshot was believed to be a summer target for The Robins however Premier League club AFC Bournemouth beat City manager Lee Johnson to the signing of the player with Mousset moving from French club Le Havre to Dean Court for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of £6 million.

Mousset has endured a miserable start to his career on the south coast making just four appearances in all competitions for Eddie Howe’s side and it has now been reported that Bristol City could try to sign the player either on a loan deal until the end of the current campaign or on a permanent basis.

The French forward bagged an impressive 14 goals for former club Le Havre last season and the player is in need of more regular playing time to help fulfil his full potential.

Bristol City are expected to search the transfer market for attacking options next month to reduce the club’s reliance upon on loan Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham who is The Robins’ top scorer. Bristol City have won just one of their last five league matches while they have scored just four more goals than they have conceded this season.
