Cameron Borthwick-Jackson to end loan at Wolves

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is set to end his loan at Wolves and return to Manchester United in January according to a report from the Mirror.

At the end of last season, the 19-year-old defender was seen as one of the most talented youngsters in the country and after some impressive performances for Manchester United in the latter parts of the year. H e was even able win their Young Player of the Season award despite intense competition.

This meant that when Wolves signed him on loan for the season during the summer, it was seen as a massive coup for the Black County club and that it would be an excellent chance for Borthwick-Jackson to continue his development as a player. However it is yet to work out that way. He has only made seven appearances for them this season and none of them have come after Paul Lambert was appointed as the club’s new head coach.

Unhappy with the amount of first team action that Borthwick-Jackson is getting, Manchester United are set to activate their clause allowing them to recall the player and it looks like he will be getting a shot to break into the first team rather than being loaned out again. He has already been named in their Europa League squad and could be set for some time on the pitch in that competition rather then being left stuck on the bench in the Sky Bet Championship.

Borthwick-Jackson may get one last run out as a Wolves player in their next match against Fulham which takes place on Saturday.
