Dons pull off superb FA Cup comeback

SkyBet League One club AFC Wimbledon have pulled off one of the greatest FA Cup comebacks of all time with a 4-3 victory over National League North outfit Curzon Ashton at the Tameside Stadium.

A hat-trick from Adam Morgan gave the non league side a fairytale 3-0 lead and but four goals in the last 14 minutes fired The Dons into the FA Cup Third Round as The Nash’s dreams of landing a big money tie in the next round were left in tatters.

The home side were ahead within the first minute when Morgan launched an unstoppable long range strike into the net and it was soon 2-0 when the same player made it a brace from close range to ensure that Curzon Ashton took a two goal lead into the break.

The second half saw Morgan complete his hat-trick just after the hour mark and it looked as though the non league side would be cruising through to the Third Round but The Dons levelled with three goals in as many minutes through strikes from Tom Elliott, Dominic Poleon and Tyrone Barnett.

The two sides looked to be heading towards a replay at Kingsmeadow in nine days time until Elliott grabbed his second goal of the match in injury time to cap off one of the FA Cup’s greatest comebacks.
