Aston Villa striker set to move on

Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce will let out of favour striker Libor Kozák leave the club during the January transfer window according to the Birmingham Mail.

The 27 year old Czech striker has been a huge flop at Villa Park after signing for the club from Italian outfit Lazio for a reported £6 million transfer fee back in September 2013.

Kozák has made just 22 appearances for Villa and has scored four goals for the club in a three year spell which has seen the player sidelined for long spells through injury and fall out of favour.

Villa manager Bruce has admitted that the player needs game time in a bid to get his career back on track and with Kozák unlikely to be handed regular football by Aston Villa, the striker is expected to be permitted to leave Villa Park during next month’s transfer window.

Kozák started his career in his homeland with Czech National Football League outfit Opava before moving to the Italian Serie A to join Lazio. The player spent over five years at the Stadio Olimpico scoring 22 goals for the club in 80 appearances.

The striker has not featured for Aston Villa under new manager Steve Bruce and the player’s Villa misery could now be set to end. It is likely that Kozák with continue his footballing career overseas with the player not expected to join another English Football League or Premier League club.
