Transfer rumours: Premier League youngster set for Championship loan move

The Mirror are reporting that young Arsenal forward, Chuba Akpom, is being lined up for a loan move away from the Emirates Stadium.

The youngster, who has been a member of Arsenal’s playing staff since 2013 has struggled with a back injury in recent times.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan with eventually promoted Hull, who were then managed by current Villa manager, Steve Bruce.

He scored 7 goals in all competition for during his spell at the KC stadium last season.

Cardiff, Brentford and Fulham are all said to be keeping tabs on the forward, who has so far made 10 appearances for the Arsenal first team.

He has, however, only managed to feature once for them this season. This appearance came against Nottingham Forest in The Gunners  4-0 EFL cup victory in September.

Akpom has, since, been missing with a back injury.

This may be a particularly attractive move for Cardiff who are struggling to stay within the financial fair play rules and loans appear to be the way forward for Warnock who has openly admitted he is looking for reinforcements in the forward department.

Despite scoring for Hull last season, this has so far been the only loan spell that he has done so. His other spells at Coventry, Forest and now interested Brentford, saw him fail to register a goal.

Akpom began his English career as a product of the youth system at Arsenal and joined the club in 2002 when he was just 6-years-old.

He has represented England at all youth levels from 16 onwards and has scored three goals so far for the under-21 side. This followed 6 for the under-20’s
