David Worrall excited to face former team

Millwall’s David Worrall has told the club website that he is very excited to face his former team Bury.

The 26-year-old winger started his career at Bury all the way back in 2006, though he never made an appearance for the Shakers in that spell before being signed by West Bromwich Albion. He would return to Gigg Lane in 2009 on a loan spell before making that move permanent the year after and spend three years in Greater Manchester and making over a hundred appearances before eventually leaving and joining Rotherham United.

Now though Worrall is at Millwall and while things have been disappointing for the Lions so far this season, they are currently 13th in Sky Bet League One after expecting another push for promotion, he is looking forward to this match so he can return to a team that he enjoyed playing for. However he insists his main focus will be on winning the game and getting Millwall a vital three points.

Worrall said: “I was captain at the club and it’s a special place for me,”

“During my time at Bury I got to know everyone there, from the players to the kitman to the cleaners.

“I have a lot of respect for the football club and the fans. The fans were great to me when I returned to play against them last season.”

“I have a good record against Bury, scored a few goals and our winning record has been very high whenever I have gone back to Gigg Lane.”

“If I am selected on Saturday I will be doing everything I can to keep that going,”
