Rotherham United leading chase to sign non-league star

Rotherham United are leading the race to sign AFC Fylde’s Danny Rowe according to a report from HITC Sport.

The 26-year-old striker is currently one of the hottest talents in the Vanarama National League North and has already scored a stunning 28 goals this season, which makes him the highest scorer in the country never mind the league. This is in addition to the staggering 37 goals that he scored last season.

With many teams in the EFL keen to make sure they sign someone who could be the next Charlie Austin or Jamie Vardy, it is no surprise that many teams are looking to sign Rowe in the upcoming January transfer window. And currently, it appears that Rotherham are leading the race to sign the non-league forward and will roll the dice on this previously untested player.

However Rotherham are accompanied by a whole host of clubs who are looking to sign Rowe. In the Sky Bet Championship, Preston North End and Wigan Athletic are looking to sign up the Fylde man while in Sky Bet League One Bolton Wanderers, Shrewsbury Town and Walsall think they have a chance of getting non-league’s latest star.

Rowe started his career at Stockport County but after a loan spell with Northwich Victoria, he moved to Barrow. After a year in Cumbria, he moved again to Macclesfield Town and again he only spent a year there before moving on and joining Fylde. Now he is one of the hottest talents in non-league and could be set to make the step up to the EFL.
