Chelsea legend favourite for MK Dons job

Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is the favourite for the managerial vacancy at SkyBet League One club MK Dons according to the Mirror.

The Dons are currently looking for a new manager after former boss Karl Robinson left the club last month following a poor run of results.

Former England ace Lampard has announced that he will leave current club New York City by the end of the year and with the 38 year old’s future career plans currently in the air, reports are now linking the Romford born midfielder with a first taste of management at Stadium MK.

Lampard is presently the favourite for the job while former Nottingham Forest and Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill is also fancied to be appointed. Other names linked to the role include former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs and Lampard’s former England team mate Steven Gerrard who left Major League Soccer club LA Galaxy earlier this week.

MK Dons currently find themselves embroiled in a relegation battle on their return to SkyBet League One following last season’s failed SkyBet Championship campaign. The Dons are winless in their last six matches and face a difficult trip to The Memorial Stadium on Saturday where they will face in form Bristol Rovers.
