Peterborough United held an event before their Sky Bet League One fixture with Bolton to introduce the project to their fans.

The wall is expected to be completed next April, and will consist of 700 time capsules.

Fans will be able to purchase a capsule for £750, and they’ll own it for 25 years.

The capsule allows the fans to store any special memorabilia inside it, as well as showing their photos on the interactive screen.

There will also be an app, where every Posh fan can share their own stories and memories with each other.

A temporary 8×5 metre banner of the Posh life Wall was on display outside the ABAX Stadium today, showing supporters what the finished project will look like.

Profits from the Life Wall will be put straight back into the Peterborough youth academy.

The first time capsule has already been awarded to life long Peterborough United fan Eric Heath.

The 90-year-old has supported the club ever since they formed in 1934, attending over 2000 games.

Eric was presented with a time capsule for the wall by Jack Collison, who came through the youth setup at the club.

He said: “I’m overwhelmed with being awarded this time capsule. This shows what a fantastic club it really is.”

Peterborough United coach Collison was full of support for the project.

He described it as “a great idea” and said the Life Wall will “seriously boost the chances of youngsters developing a career at Posh.”

A member of the Life Wall team, the group behind the designing of the wall, feels that it won’t be long until the interactive walls are being used up and down the country.

“This is the first stadium that it’s going to be installed at, but soon enough other football clubs will take after Peterborough,” he said.

“It will be a huge benefit to the club. It will definitely give it a community feel.”
