QPR midfielder receiving interest from three Premier League teams

QPR’s Massimo Luongo is receiving interest from Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion and Middlesbrough according to a report from Australian website SBS.

Luongo has been a QPR player since the summer of 2015 after he signed for them from Swindon Town, just the R’s instead of moving to then Premier League side Aston Villa. Not only has he played well for them despite their relatively mediocre league positions, but he has also performed well on the national stage for his native Australia. His form his country led to a shock place on the Ballon d’or shortlist last year.

And with QPR struggling to once again put together a promotion bid this season, Premier League clubs are now skulking around and are considering making a move for the midfielder in the upcoming January transfer window. And with Luongo keen to play in the Premier League, Crystal Palace, West Brom and Middlesbrough believe they may be able to tempt him to leave West London in January.

The issue they could face however is that while Luongo would like to play in the Premier League, he isn’t itching for an instant move and wants to keep on going and trying to get QPR into the top tier. And with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2018, there is currently no reason for the R’s to sell one of their key players just yet. This means that despite the fact all three clubs are ready to bring the player in, they are likely to find it tough going.
