Leeds fans, like others in the hat for the draw, waited with bated breath as the alloted hour ticked on, then by as Sky Sports News HQ took advantage of advertising schedules to prolong Whites fans waiting to see who ball number 3 would be drawn to face.
As it was, ball number 1 was first out signifying that Liverpool would have a home game at the famous Anfield – a ground that has seen numerous famous games over the years. Ball number 3 was drawn moments later, Leeds fans knew that it would be their side going to Anfield in the week beginning November 28.
Leeds will travel across the M62 knowing that they will be facing a team with a squad that has a market value of £321.5m to choose from. In their last EFL Cup game, a 2-1 win over Spurs, the Reds fielded a side with only three Youth/Development Squad players and the rest weighing in at a hefty market value of £86.7m – or one Paul Pogba.

In all honesty Twitter is awash with Leeds fans eulogising, some in more crude language than others, about the trip to Anfield scheduled to take place in around a month’s time. All the great sieges in history have been built on the back of excellent planning and this one is no different. Leeds fans have started the ‘thinking out’ stages already.
