Veteran set to stay at Fulham beyond this season

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic has hinted that midfielder Scott Parker will be offered a role with the club after he hangs up his boots according to Get West London.

The 36 year old former England international has been in good form in recent weeks and could continue his playing career for a few more seasons yet but Whites boss Jokanovic has admitted that Parker will continue to be involved with the club once he ends his playing days.

Jokanovic’s comments could mean that the club could offer a coaching role to Parker who is thought to be desperate to remain in the game while an ambassadorial role may also be a possibility.

Parker started his career in the academy system at Charlton Athletic before going on to make 145 appearances for The Addicks scoring 10 goals.

In January 2004, Parker joined big spenders Chelsea on a four and a half year deal for a reported £10 million transfer fee but the player struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge scoring once and making just 28 appearances for The Blues.

Spells with Newcastle United, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur followed before Parker joined West Londoners Fulham in August 2013. The player was unable to help steer The Whites away from relegation that season but Parker has still gone on to become something of a fans’ favourite at Craven Cottage after making 111 appearances for the club scoring six goals and the midfielder is seemingly now set for an extended stay with the club,
