Wolves: Premier League giants to recall starlet

Premier League Manchester United are set to end starlet Caneron Borthwick-Jackson’s loan spell at Wolves after the youngster has found game time hard to come by report the MailOnline.

The 19-year-old England Under-20 international, who made 14 appearances for the Red Devils last season after breaking into first-team reckoning, went on loan for the season to Molineux in order to gain first team experience, but has seen his time restricted to just four Sky Bet Championship appearances amounting to 357 minutes of game time.

As a result of this inactivity MailOnline say that Borthwick, who Manchester United think highly of and turned down Premier League offers in order for him to go to Wolves, will be recalled from the Midlands and will return to Old Trafford. The MailOnline go on to say that Jose Mourinho will recall the youngster as his parent club were “given assurances that he would be given plenty of opportunities.”

Borthwick-Jackson’s last game for Wolves was an 87 minute appearance at left-back in a 2-1 home loss to Norwich at the beginning of October, the youngster not featuring in the squad in the three matches since.

Where he does have a future is at Old Trafford, with the young left-back saying as much when reporting the words spoken to him by Mourinho upon signing on loan for Wolves. Borthwick-Jackson, quoted in the Manchester Evening News at the time, said of this conversation: “Mourinho has told me I’ve got a future there, he sees a future for me. So that’s what I’m looking to do, gain experience and start there.”

The youngster, who could return to Old Trafford as early as next week, signed a new contract during the summer that ties him to Manchester United until summer 2020.
