QPR at the ‘jogging stage’ claims boss

Queens Park Rangers manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes that his side are some way off meeting their full potential after The Hoops fell to a 1-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon according to Get West London.

The West Londoners had twice as many shots on target as The Owls at Hillsborough but the home side displayed an element of clinical finishing with Gary Hooper scoring the only goal of the match five minutes before half time.

After the match, The Hoops manager Hasselbaink brushed off the defeat and gave the opinion that his side are only half way towards their long term ambitions.

“We should have been more cute and we must get better at that” Hasselbaink told Get West London.

“But I’m happy with the performance and the boys did well.”

“We are trying to get towards the top of the table (where Sheffield Wednesday are) and yes there is a difference” The Hoops boss added.

“They have the squad they had last year. If you look at the Sheffield Wednesday players that played today all but one of them were in the Play Off Final and that gives you continuity.

“Today was a big test and we did well. That’s our aim to be up there. First we have to walk, then run and then sprint and at the moment we are at the jogging stage.”

The result leaves QPR in 13th position with 19 points from their 14 SkyBet Championship matches.
