Leeds United: putting it right and the knobbler – O’Kane

Irish international Eunan O’Kane was Leeds United’s sole Transfer Deadline Day signing this summer, signing for the Whites from Premier League side Bournemouth, sinking a two-year deal for the usual ‘undisclosed’ fee.

Since signing on at Elland Road, the five-appearance Ireland international has made seven appearances, racking up 623 minutes of action and has one assist to his name. His displays have begun to catch the eyes of Leeds United fans watching from the terraces, the overwhelming majority being positive about the Derry-born 26-year-old’s exertions.

In a recent interview with BBC Radio Leeds’ West Yorkshire Sport Daily (WYS Daily) show (see foot of article) O’Kane spoke about the disappointment that he felt at Leeds essentially throwing away three points against Wigan after allowing a late equaliser from the Latics. Speaking to WYS Daily’s Adam Pope, O’Kane said: “the result is the first thing that needs to be put right. I think that it’s the only thing that need to be put right. We…in terms of putting stuff right, that’s it!”

As well as speaking of his disappointment at the result from Tuesday night’s game to the WYS Daily programme, O’Kane also tweeted his disappointment after the game (below).

One thing that the Irish midfielder brought up was talking about the way that massage is done to sort out tired limbs at Elland Road. When asked about this by Adam Pope, O’Kane admitted it “was not nice” adding that he spoke to his partner about the treatments he received, before saying that “we have something here called the knobbler,” before going on to add a little detail and colour to the description.
